IIT Kanpur, Kharagpur Offer Free Online Courses on Machine Learning, Data Science

IIT Kanpur and Kharagpur have recently introduced free courses on data science, artificial intelligence, and machine learning.

IIT Kanpur is now offering two new online courses: Data Science With R Software 1: Probability And Statistical Inference and Data Science With R Software 2: Sampling theory and linear regression analysis.

On the other hand, Kharagpur is providing a free course on applied linear algebra in artificial intelligence and machine learning that spans over 12 weeks.

IIT Kanpur:

  • The course at IIT Kanpur will be conducted by Dr. Shalabh, a professor of statistics at the institute.
  • The course begins on 23 January and ends on 14 April 2023, with the last day to apply being 30 January 2023.
  • More than 150 students have already enrolled for the course.

IIT Kharagpur:

  • The course on artificial machine learning at IIT Kharagpur will be led by Professor Swanand Khare, who is currently an associate professor at the institute.
  • It commences on 3 January 2023 and concludes on 14 April 2023, with the deadline for enrollment being 23 January 2023.
  • Participants can obtain a certificate upon completion of the course by paying Rs 1,000 and taking an examination.

Both courses are available for enrollment on the National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning (NPTEL) platform.

Who can apply?

The course at Kharagpur is suitable for senior undergraduates and postgraduates in fields like Computer Science Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, or Mathematics.

IIT Kanpur’s course, on the other hand, is open to individuals with a mathematics background up to class 12. It is particularly beneficial for undergraduate students in science and engineering, humanities students with basic mathematical and statistical knowledge, and working professionals in analytics.
