Hyderabad-based defence startup Apollyon Dynamics has forged a new path in UAV technology by setting a remarkable speed record in India. Their electric interceptor drone, Ahuti Mk II, achieved a certified top speed of 498 km/h, establishing itself as the fastest multirotor UAV in South Asia.
Genesis and Growth of Apollyon Dynamics
Founded in 2025 by Jayant Khatri and Sourya Choudhary, Apollyon Dynamics originated from an incubation program at BITS Pilani’s Hyderabad campus. The startup specializes in autonomous aerial systems tailored for the Indian armed forces, already supplying drone platforms to the Indian Army.
The Ahuti Mk II: Engineering Excellence and Speed
The record-breaking Ahuti Mk II was developed by engineers Aman Virani, Manas Vichare, and Ishaan Suri. It marks a substantial upgrade from the original Ahuti prototype that had reached speeds of approximately 300 km/h in 2025.
The achievement of 498 km/h validates Apollyon Dynamics’ engineering methodologies and underscores the relentless dedication of its team to advancing drone capabilities.
Jayant Khatri reflects on his journey, which began with a Rs 2 lakh SOLVE grant from BITS Pilani. This support facilitated the purchase of initial 3D printing tools and motors, which laid the technical foundation for their advanced UAV development.

Sourya Choudhary notes the swift development from the original Ahuti’s 300 km/h speed to the Mk II’s 498 km/h in under a year. This leap was achieved through extensive testing and iterative improvements, reflecting the team’s commitment to pioneering fast, reliable unmanned drones.

The Ahuti Mk II is engineered for the rapid interception of hostile drones and loitering munitions, addressing the need for speed in neutralizing fast-moving aerial threats.
Looking forward, Apollyon Dynamics aims to develop a Power Cruise Missile platform by 2030, focusing on optimizing speed, autonomy, scalability, and cost efficiency.
